Week 7:Digestion Problems(Gastric Flu)

Contaminated food and water is the main cause of gastric flu. Victims would womit and have diarrhea and this would last for at least 1-2 days. The victim would also have stomach ache, headache and fever.Gastric flu is not a serious illness it could be cured by resting and taking medication. Gastric flu is a contagious and we should keep a distance from people who has gastric flu..289639-main_Full.jpg

Week 6: The process of digestion

In humans, the food enters our body through mouth which is chewed into smaller pieces of food. After that we would swallow the food and it would enter our gullet which is then pushed down into the stomach. The saliva in our mouth also plays an important part in digestion. Stomach has acid which kills most contaminating microorganisms and begins to breaks down some of food. After a few hours the food travels to small intestine and even more digestive juices are added. This is the part where the nutrients are absorbes into the blood stream. Then the rest is moved into the large intestine where water and mineral salts are absorbed. The rest is excreted through the anus.

Week 5 Digestion Problems

Some people have diarrhea because they take a lot of spicy food and the body cannot digest the food well.Several types of bacteria in contaminated food and water can also cause diarrhea. Some people also have irritable bowel syndrome which causes diarrhea.

Week 3 Vitamins

Vitamins are important for our body to function normally. They are absolutely necessary for our growth, general-well being and vitality.We take vitamins in our daily lives and are needed to have a healthy body.

Vitamin A-Repairs and grow body tissues,protects membrane of mouth, throat, lungs and nose, helps maintain a smooth skin and night blindness.

Vitamin B-helps in digestion of carbohydrates , normal working of the nervous system, heart and muscles ,Stabilizes appetite , Promotes growth , Generates energy

Week 2 Reflection

I have found out that eating healthily does not only keep your body healthy, it also gives you more energy and provides you with a healthy lifestyle.It would also lessen the chances of you getting diseases when you are older.
I have also found out that eating a variety of food is important in our daily meals, it would allow us to benefit more from each category of food through its nutrients and other health benefits.
We should also consume less fats and take more proteins and carbohydrates which are energy giving food substance.
Vegetables gives fiber.
Protein is needed for muscles and strength
Wholegrain food is healthier, like taking whole meal bread is much healthier then taking white bread as the glucose release is slower and consumers would tend to feel more awake if he takes wholemeal bread.

In summary, eating healthily I found out from my family members that eating healthy from young is more important then we think it is and many fail to understand its importance.
